Just as I thought the political paradox of the week was going to be Gov. Sanford’s continued erratic, over revealing press conferences in lieu of his desire to stay in office, Gov. Sarah Palin resigns. My head performed an impromptu “Fred Flinstone” headshake when I saw the news. I then listened to her press conference and bam, there it was. Sarah Palin quit saying, “we know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time, on another scale, and actually make a difference for our priorities - and so we will, for Alaskans and for Americans.”
She wants to be a community organizer. A sevantly ingenious political move, Machiavellian in its audacity, “keep your enemies at arm’s length, keep your friends further”. Then, turning the classic saying, "if you can't beat them join them" on its head, she invokes; if you can't beat them whine, quit and then become them.
At this point the only thing Governor Sanford can do to reclaim his place at the top is to announce the forthcoming birth of a lovechild from his soon to be former wife or a soulchild from his soon to be former soulmate.
